Two Strengths Gem!! Long Bladed Green Kyanite Raw Crystal Silver Pendant From Brazil - 1.7"

This is a very nice long, bladed unpolished Green kyanite silver pendant from Brazil. Kyanite covered with sparkling Mica just added to the beauty.
The cause of green color is vanadium.
Location: Goiás, Brazil
Size: 4.4 x 0.9 x 0.6 Centimeters with bail
Weigh: 6.2 Grams

Interesting Fact: Kyanite specimens have a variable hardness. The long crystals have a Mohs hardness of about 4.5 to 5 if tested parallel to the length of a crystal, and a hardness of 6.5 to 7 if tested across the short dimension of a crystal. The mineral was once commonly called "disthene" which means "two strengths."
Kyanite is allochromatic and occurs in the colors blue to colorless, blue-green, brown and orange.
The cause of color is iron and titanium for blue stones (charge transfer from Fe2+ --> Ti4+) and vanadium for green ones. Orange stones are probably colored by iron and/or manganese.
